Aging with Passion and Purpose, a conference on aging, will be held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, on October 21 and 22, 2007. The Center for Healthy Aging, Ministries, Programs and Services (CHAMPS), the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Department of Gerontology, School of Social Work and Program for Women and Successful Aging (PWSA) and United Way of the Midlands are partners in this conference. Sunday, October 21, keynote speaker Anne Basting, Ph.D., will be followed by workshops focused on creativity and aging in addition to workshops on spirituality and congregational care for older adults. Monday, October 22, keynote Gene Cohen, M.D., will be followed by presentations focused on bridging theory and practice related to community efforts, creativity and spirituality.

This week on "Consider This...," host Andrea McMaster will be discussing aging issues. She'll be joined by guests: James Summerfelt, chair of United Way's Older Adults Vision Council and Executive Director of Visiting Nurse Association of Omaha; Tom Adams, director of the Center for Healthy Aging, Ministries, Programs and Services (CHAMPS) and Beverly Griffith, Executive Director of Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging (ENOA).
