Every year, hundreds of children and youth in our community are removed from their families because of neglect and abuse. While these families heal, their children need a safe, loving, home-like atmosphere with minimal judgment and abundant patience. Communities in Nebraska greatly need foster parents to care for these youth, especially for older, school-age children. This week on Consider This, weÕll talk about the foster care system and the need for foster parents. WeÕll be joined by Stephanie Kidd, ChildrenÕs Services Outreach Coordinator for Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Eleshia Teet, foster mother and EleshiaÕs foster daughter, Katie.
