UNO Television, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, is a unit of the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media that provides television production, program distribution, and educational services to a diverse group of users on local, regional and national levels. UNO Television operates the Omaha Production Center for Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) Television, one of the country's foremost state networks, for which it also produces programs for statewide distribution.
UNO Television serves and enriches the community through television programming that educates, entertains and informs. As an integral part of the university, it provides unique educational opportunities to students through training and employment in a professional environment. Professional staff responds to the varying needs of the UNO community and viewers through distinctive, high quality programs and the innovative application of technology. UNO Television is committed to providing the very best programs and services to a growing number of satisfied users.
UNO Television facilitates distance education and telecourses through its facility, and provides local programing for The Knowledge Network (TKN) of Greater Omaha, a non-profit corporation designed to provide educational services via local broadcast and cable television. TKN programs air on Cox Communication channels 17 and 18 and Qwest Communications channels 25 and 74. More information about UNO Television program schedules is available here.
The UNO Television studio also provides a laboratory in which UNO broadcasting students receive applied instruction on professional broadcast equipment from professors and professionals in the industry.
